A downloadable game for Windows and macOS
Allete (All-et) is a chill, isometric puzzle game made for the Brackeys Game Jam 2021 with the theme of "Stronger Together"
You control 1-2 cubes that can merge together to beat levels (stronger when they're together) and can split apart and be controlled together (stronger when they work together).
WASD or arrows to move.
Blue cubes can split into green cubes by hitting spikes, and green cubes can combine to form a blue cube when they occupy the same square.
I made the art with Adobe Illustrator, the code with Unity and Jetbrains Rider, the sounds with my voice and Adobe Audition, and the music with FL Studio.

It's important for you mac users to read the install instructions; otherwise you won't be able to play it
I will probably be continuing this post-jam to release either on mobile or steam, so feedback is GREATLY APPRECIATED as well as subscribing to my channel where I'll be posting a devlog for this jam, as well as a future devlog series about me continuing this game.

Install instructions
--MAC USERS--
unzip the game somewhere, open up a terminal window, and type in
(Big Sur)
chmod a+x Allete_Mac.app/Contents/MacOS/*
(Catalina)
chmod -R a+xr "Allete_Mac.app"
this will make OSX recognize that this file is an executable, allowing you to run it.
--WINDOWS--
unzip somewhere and run the .exe :)

the mac file is corrupted :/
did you follow the install instructions? You need to unlock permissions for it, and I have directions to do so :)
I don't like the idea of allowing a file do whatever it want on my computer while my chrome is saying it is not secure when I download it, but DAMNIT this game look sick, Ill take the risk
Yeah, it is the same message: "Allete_mac.app" is corrupted and can't be open. You should put this in the trash bin :( I forgot to mention, but I'm on MacOs catalina
I’ll look into that, a friend of mine tested in his mac and it worked fine after doing the stuff in the terminal. I’ll check with him and get back to you as soon as possible. I appreciate your patience :)
alright, so my friend was on big sur, and I did some research, and it looks like the terminal command is different for catalina, mind giving this a try?
arg, still the same error, thanks for taking the time to try to solve my problem, I'll try looking up the internet for a solution myself
LOL unlocking permissions on it just allows it to be executed, and nothing else (as I built this on a windows machine)
Really cool game, i got a bit wierded out because of isometric controles :/, but thats probably just me!
Anyways good puzzles, really joocy animations for walking and hitting an object!
